Nose: It get a odd bumble gum blend of bubble yum with a slight hint of mint. It is super sweet on the nose almost frosting sweet. This not a combination I have ever had on a rye.
Palate: There is a strong berry that comes out of the sweet bumble gum. It is a sweet red berry almost like a over ripe strawberry. Then it gets a little bitter which is pleasant to change up the experience.
Finish: All of the sweetness falls away to leave a more traditional whiskey finish of toasted grain. The toasted falls away as the finish clears leaving some grassy notes to help cleanse the tongue making you want to go back for more.

Nose: The proof is right there on this fresh crack but along with it are some good sweet notes. There is some marshmallow fluff and a sweet red berry. It is like a blend of raspberry and strawberry. At the end there is just a whisp of vanilla.
Palate: On the front of the palate there is the vanilla from the nose but with some rich caramel. It is just a full flavored and not really dark roasted caramel. As it progresses the vanilla changes to the berries but just the strawberry.
Finish: Here is where things change and the oak comes through. I find it to be a welcomed change from the sweet notes of the palate. It brings some bitterness but nothing too harsh. I also get just a whisp of full raspberry on the back of my tongue. The char from the oak is how the last hints of flavor fall away.

👃 Nose (9/10): Dark chocolate, cocoa, honey, buttery sweetness, warm baking spice, and a touch of tobacco.
👅 Palate (9/10): Chocolate and oak upfront, with pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, and caramel. Dark fruits (cherry, plum) come through on the second sip, adding depth.
🔥 Finish (9.5/10): Long, oily, and buttery. Chocolate lingers with caramel and dark fruit — like a chocolate fruitcake with brown sugar on top.
📝 Final Thoughts: Dessert-leaning but bold, with spice and oak to balance. I paid $129.99 for this bottle — I love it, but I’d be even happier paying closer to $90.

JP Liquors Pick (127.3 proof, bottled 8/24). Too hot to be crushable, but man, it’s good.
👃 Nose (9.5/10): Straight banana — banana bread, banana pudding, even banana candy. Backed by chocolate, caramel, tobacco, and a touch of baking spice (allspice/clove).
👅 Palate (10/10): Like drinking banana bread with caramel and oak layered in. Spice hits the tongue early but balances with sweetness. Rich, oily, and buttery.
🔥 Finish (9.5/10): Hibiscus, brown sugar, lingering banana/chocolate notes. Long, oily, and satisfying.
💵 Price: ~$59 at JP Liquors (Naperville, IL). Absolute steal for the quality.
Final Thoughts: Probably one of the best JD SBP picks I’ve had. If you’re a banana note fan, this bottle is a must.

👃 Nose (8.5): Bold oak, dark chocolate/cocoa, tobacco, caramel, vanilla, buttery brown sugar, baking spice.
👅 Palate (8.6): Brown sugar & caramel sweetness → espresso, dark chocolate, hint of hibiscus → clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, tobacco. Oily, smooth for 107 proof.
🔥 Finish (9.1): Long & layered; mocha/caramel upfront → espresso, oak, dark chocolate. Sweetness + spice linger with an oily coating.
📝 Final Thoughts: Oak-driven but balanced by dessert sweetness & coffee depth. Perfect if you love chocolate, espresso & long finishes. Great value <$100.

Proof: 106, Finished w/ Five Woods
👃 Nose (7.8/10): Light raw spice, spearmint, faint clove, citrus zest (orange/lemon), caramel, touch of oak.
👅 Palate (7.7/10): Smooth caramel up front, mild rye spice in the middle, oaky vanilla, buttery toffee. Citrus zest shows up more here than dark fruits.
🔥 Finish (7.2/10): Medium length, a little minty/oaky with a light buttery coating, but nothing too deep.
💰 Value (~$60): Solid daily sipper — approachable, unique with the five-wood finish, but not overly complex.
Cool pour for the price, worth trying if you see it, but not a must-have bottle
